Holland was a farming community for years but now has only a few large farms. The town has a few shops and restaurants, but residents pride themselves on a small-town, rural atmosphere. With only about 3,400 residents, Holland is among the least-populated towns in Erie County. The Girl Scouts of Western New York run a camp here, Camp Seven Hills, with two lakes, two dining halls, a sports complex and horse stables. The east branch of Cazenovia Creek runs through Holland.
Holland Motorsports Complex, also known as Holland Speedway, is the best known attraction in town. The complex hosts short track NASCAR races every Saturday and the track has seating for about 7,000 people.
