For retail shopping, look no further than the Walden Galleria Mall, the largest mall in the Buffalo region. A unique shopping attraction is the Niagara Hobby and Craft Mart on Union Road, which sells merchandise like kites and radio-control cars, boats and planes. For grocery shopping, Cheektowaga has three Tops Friendly Markets (on Union Road, Harlem Road and Thruway Plaza Drive). Five Wegmans supermarkets are in the area – two in the village of Depew, two in the village of Williamsville and one in the town of Amherst.
The Cheektowaga Central School District has one high school, one middle school and two elementary schools. Cheektowaga Sloan has a high school, middle school and two elementary schools. Cleveland Hill has a high school, middle school and elementary school, and Maryvale has a high school, a middle school, an intermediate school and a primary school. Cheektowaga has two public library branches: the Anna Reinstein Memorial Library on Harlem Road, and the Julia Boyer Reinstein Library on Losson Road. For hospitals, the Sisters of Charity-St. Joseph Campus is in Cheektowaga, and the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital is in neighboring Amherst.
