4. Don’t forget outside mechanics.
How does the garage door look? Are the gutters properly hung and in good shape? Is the mailbox rusted or dangling from its perch? Does the lamp stand tall and straight and importantly, does it work? Sometimes owners neglect to replace light bulbs, planting the thought in a buyers’ mind that the light does not work, when it indeed does. Make sure your house numbers are fastened in a visible location and evenly spaced as well as polished or painted. Is the driveway cracked or need to be sealed? Check the front steps for missing stones or cracks running through the concrete. Also, check your foundation. If it needs pointing do so before getting the house on the market. Many buyers don’t understand that simply pointing the mortar is all that is needed and assume there are
